About the fibre

Staple length 100-150mm. Micron count 36-40

Coarse

Lincoln wool is hardy, despite the characteristic sheen, and is primarily used in commercial markets for spinning carpet yarns. It is often blended with finer but shorter stapled fibres to make a stronger yarn.

We think this wool is excellent for making yarns to weave blankets with, or to knit into rustic outer-layer sweaters and jackets.

Natural white.

Each bag contains 100g of wool.

Origin: United Kingdom

About the breed

Lincoln sheep, though now considered rare, have been bred in England since the 13th century, and are known for their lustrous locks of long-stapled wool.

(Side note: they are also very well-tempered, and may greet you like a big dog, licking your hand and wagging their tail -- they are almost unbearably charming.)
